Some places don't need elaborate sets.
The landscape already tells the story.
That is what brought an international Victoria's Secret production to Laguna Nopalitos, years before it became NEEK.
A hidden location beyond the beach
When international fashion productions come to Tulum, the obvious choices are usually beaches, luxury villas or jungle hotels.
Laguna Nopalitos offered something entirely different.
“Crystal-clear water. Wooden platforms floating above the lagoon. Natural textures. An atmosphere that felt secluded, authentic and almost untouched.”
It wasn't designed to look exclusive. It simply was.
Fashion meets landscape
The production was led by Habitant Productions, an international production company specializing in projects across Mexico, Colombia and Uruguay.
Working alongside an international creative team—including photographer and director Zoey Grossman—the campaign explored how fashion could exist naturally within one of the Riviera Maya's most unique landscapes.
Rather than competing with the environment, the styling embraced it.
The lagoon became the backdrop. The architecture framed the scene. Nature completed the composition.
Why brands are drawn to NEEK
Creative teams often search for locations that immediately communicate emotion.
NEEK offers something difficult to replicate:
- Natural turquoise water
- Minimal architecture
- Large open skies
- Wooden decks
- Calm surroundings
- Easy production logistics compared to remote natural locations
Every frame feels cinematic without requiring extensive production design.
That makes the lagoon ideal for:
- Fashion campaigns
- Editorial shoots
- Lifestyle brands
- Commercial productions
- Luxury travel content
- Music videos
A place built for stories
The Victoria's Secret production is one of many examples of how the lagoon has quietly become part of international creative projects.
Over the years, photographers, designers, filmmakers, musicians and global brands have found inspiration here.
Not because NEEK tries to imitate Tulum.
“But because it represents another side of it. Slower. Closer to nature. More authentic.”
